Alsina & Sardà
With grape growing roots that can be traced beyond 1894, the Alsina family makes wine and cavas that demonstrate a true knowledge of the land and grapes. Alsina & Sardà is located in the heart of Spain’s cava production region, in the municipality of El Pla del Penedès near Sant Sadurní d’Anoia. Building upon their foundation in still wines, the Alsina Sardà brothers began producing cava in 1980. Three generations work in the winery and vineyards today. The estate vineyards have a variety of microclimates due to their proximity to the Mediterranean Sea and different altitudes, so each grape variety is able to find the ideal location to express its best qualities. These wines are made with organic grapes, and the cavas are vegan.
“I will never forget the first time I tasted Alsina & Sardà wines. It was a grey and rainy day, and that first sip of Finca La Boltana was like a ray of sunshine. Immediately I wanted to taste more of this floral and aromatic white, and I was delighted to find that their other wines and cavas were just as special and delicious.” — Robin
